I remember back in the mid-eighties when I was a teen-eager, I worked at this pizza joint in Texas. One of my co-workers who lived in a nearby town was driving in to work for the afternoon shift day one day and on his way he picked up a gentlemen hitchhiker who's semi had broken down. My friend picked him up and I remember sitting and talking with this guy. He was old, probably thirty (LOL), at my age then, thirty was old. Anyway, he asked me what I wanted to do in my life and I responded by telling him that I wanted to go to college for a business degree. He asked what my father did for a living and I told him that my old man was in retail. The guy responded, "Is that what your dad wants you to do is go to college for a business degree?". I said ,"yes". "You don"t have to do everything your parents want you to do." It was the first time anybody ever told me that I didn't have to do what my parent's wished. My dream was to be a musician and a writer. I became that by the way, with a career in Alcohol and Drug Counseling to fall back on. It is funny when we are teen-angers, it seems sometimes we do what others, especially what parents want us to do in life. Kids should also be allowed and taught to think on their own. Have a good Wednesday.---Keith
