There is a great deal of buzz lately about Kaitlyn Jenner. I remember as a kid watching Bruce Jenner in the Olympics as well as on The Wild World of Sports on Saturday afternoons. I would have never guessed that one day he would become Kaitlyn Jenner. Next time you judge her, think about this. In this world we put on masks and many times we portray things we are not. Bruce Jenner decided he didn't want to wear the mask anymore and he decided for once he was going to be the real person he wanted to be. That takes courage that many of us do not have. In my novel Shop Side, which is now available, my character Roscoe did this very same thing by transforming himself to Rozie Redd Skye. He became tired of living a lie, and decided to be himself for the first time in his life. We are many things in this life, but are we portraying who we really are, are you? We have to have the courage to change sometimes, Bruce did, as well as Rozie. Like I said do you? Have a good day.---Keith

We all have our opinions on this, but my opinion is yes, it is definitely a fancy receipt. The cost of college is phenomenal and then people are paying back loans forever. I saw an article yesterday about how a lady's balance is being taken out of her social security checks. I have to say I never learned much in college. It taught me very little about my career, basically just a bunch of information from overly priced books that doesn't apply whatsoever to the real job. One thing I do remember that has always stuck with me however is: I went to college twice, once right out of high school and I wasn't ready, anyway I flunked out. When I went back at an older age I started on academic probation and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to do well in school. Siting one day in my academic advisers office, behind him was a plaque on the wall that read, "You only fail if you give up." That has pulled me through many hard times in life. Seriously this is the only thing in College that stuck with me, and that was free. Have a good day...Keith
I am probably still, "It" from playing the game, "It" on the playground as a child. I was always so slow and could never catch anyone. There is a lot of pressure for kids on the playground. One thing is this is where scuffles take place, but another, and what was an issue for me as a child was being the last to be picked for kickball, softball etc. I was never much good at sports and I was always one of the last if not the last kid to be picked. Remember in school when the coach would pick two captains and the captains would pick from the crowd of kids standing across from them? I was always the last one standing on the horrible side that emptied before my eyes. It is a lonely feeling, perhaps the loneliest ever, especially when you are ten or eleven years old. If I were a coach I would pick teams, I would never put a kid through this. I also remember till this day who the first person picked was, it was the same kid every time and then the same kids followed suite, until it got to me and I was the last one left. So much pressure. The play ground and the bus stop used to be some bad places at times. I don't know how it is now, but kids have it rough. Have a good Wednesday.---Keith
A writer should write material from the heart, which I suppose most do. I know a few who write with the idea of selling their work. Of course a few extra dollars is nice, but in my opinion a writer should write for the purpose of expressing him or herself. Thats what it is about. Self expression through writing is essential in making one successful. This is my thoughts anyway. What do you think?. I also feel a writer should write about what makes them happy, whatever they feel passionate about, whether it is a popular subject or not. It is about the expression, not about selling the books. My philosophy is , "I write books and if they sell that's a bonus." I never write with selling in mind. I write to express my feelings and my ideas, my message. --Keith
Seinfeld was a great show. The writing was brilliant. Those writers could take nothing and make something from it and it was very funny. The episode where Kramer set up the Merv Griffin set in is apartment is my favorite. Which one is your favorite? Check out this video that explains 20 references for the younger viewers. Feel free to browse through the book section. My novel Shop Side is now available. http://mentalfloss.com/article/64628/20-seinfeld-cultural-references-explained-younger-viewers
