This is a favorite of mine about never giving up.
A frog was hopping around a farmyard, when it decided to investigate the barn. Being somewhat careless, and maybe a little too curious, he ended up falling into a pail half-filled with fresh milk. As he swam about attempting to reach the top of the pail, he found that the sides of the pail were too high and steep to reach. He tried to stretch his back legs to push off the bottom of the pail but found it too deep. But this frog was determined not to give up, and he continued to struggle. He kicked and squirmed and kicked and squirmed, until at last, all his churning about in the milk had turned the milk into a big hunk of butter. The butter was now solid enough for him to climb onto and get out of the pail! "Never Give Up!" Many writers’ give up after they receive a few rejections. The reason most writers never make it in the business is simply the fact that they do give up. We have to fight in life to make a better foundation just as the frog in the paragraph above. If we try there is always a chance we will succeed, but if we give up, we are guaranteed to fail. Have a good day.--Keith. All I can tell you is that I keep having this dream of a woman carrying flowers. She's wearing a lavender dress, an older one from the sixties and she is carrying blue flowers in a wicker basket walking towards me. I can't see her face. I wake every morning wondering who this person is, and what her face looks like. Had I seen her before on the street or in a magazine? Who is she?
Her right hand is on the handle of the basket, and her left holding the bottom. Her arms positioned in a way as if she is about to hand me the flowers. Although blurry, behind her I can see the bush she picked them from. Her skin brownish, but I am unable to tell if it is her natural color or from the sun. She walks closer to me shrinking the distance between us, as if to reach what she desires. I can only hope her desire is me. She’s about to hand me the flowers when I always woke up. Why me? I wonder. Am I the woman in the dream, or perhaps her daughter, or maybe I a guy who likes flowers. Perhaps this dream is a vision from a past life. Maybe she is my wife. Strange as it would seem, I am in love with this woman in my dream. Her skin is beautiful. She seems sophisticated, warm, and friendly. Until now, I never realized it was possible to love a faceless person of a dream. Everything I need to know was in my image of her. I love her, and what her face looks like is not of concern. I don't care, I have fallen in love with her, and to me she is beautiful. Just a random writing, enjoy your Saturday, Keith In my other career, my real job, I am a License. Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. I have been practicing for 25 years. I have worked with famous people, millionaires, convicts, murderers, child molesters, rapist, you name it. The one common factor with all of them is resentments. They always have them. I think most of us do, whether we are addicts or not. Resentments will lead to relapse for an addict, and anger or the "poor me syndrome," for the rest of us. Resentments will tear a soul apart and eat away at us piece by piece. The only way to have peace in our lives is to let go of these resentments. More times than not, the people we resent have no clue we resent them, or they don’t care meanwhile they go on with their lives and we are miserable. Life is too short to hold onto resentments, the sooner we let them go, the sooner we will have true inner peace.
Have a good day. Keith One thing is constant in life and that is change. There is a saying that I like, "If nothing changes, nothing changes," meaning if one doesn't change a particular behavior or thought, then the results will not change. You have to change something to see a change in other words. Change can be scary for some people because many people don't like change and have trouble accepting it and adjusting to it. It always will happen there is nothing we can do, so we may as well accept it and learn to adjust to it. If we don't we stay stuck. Many people are stuck in outdated or old school thinking if you will. Bob Dylan wrote in his song, "The Times are a Changin" that if you can't lend a hand then get out of the way. I feel like that as well. If people can't change with the times, they need to move over and let us of those who can, pass by. Change doesn't have to be scary, after all it happens. ---Keith
