Three years ago today I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. That decision was whether to put down my dog of thirteen years, or experiment with a treatment hoping it would work for him. I remember asking the vet what he would do if it were his dog and he said he would let him go, so that's what I did. I held my dogs head while the barbiturate took him away into a forever sleep. I loved that dog and was thankful to have had him. Pets are peace . They can help us to feel better physically, emotionally , and spiritually. A relationship with a pet has actually shown in studies that it can lower blood pressure by relieving stress. Plus, they will always help us writers to find something too write about. It was a hard day three years ago, but I have always felt peace in the decision I made. His name was Shadow and he enhanced my life in many ways. Pets are like that. Enjoy your pet, they are worth it.--Kelly

I seldom watch television, but the other night I decided to turn it on and within a minute I realized there was absolutely nothing to watch. I noticed; however, that on almost every channel there was a reality show of some sort. Talent reality shows, family related reality shows, dating ones, you name it , it was showing. I found all of them repulsive and sickening. More importantly I found it sickening that these shows are popular because people watch them. Is this what we have become? Apparently so, this is another perfect example why I only turn my television on maybe once a month. We can choose to face it or not face it, but my opinion is that these things are making some dumber than they already are. People are dumbing themselves down, are you one of them? take care ---Kelly.
1. The Germans made the first artificial Christmas trees out of dyed goose feathers.
2. All the gifts in the Twelve Days of Christmas would equal 364 gifts 3. Most of Santa’s reindeer have male-sounding names, such as Blitzen, Comet, and Cupid. However, male reindeers shed their antlers around Christmas, so the reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh are likely not male, but female or castrati. 4. According to data analyzed from Facebook posts, two weeks before Christmas is one of the two most popular times for couples to break up. However, Christmas Day is the least favorite day for breakups. 5. Christmas trees usually grow for about 15 years before they are sold 6. Alabama was the first state in the United States to officially recognize Christmas in 1836. 7. Christmas stockings allegedly evolved from three sisters who were too poor to afford a marriage dowry and were, therefore, doomed to a life of prostitution. They were saved, however, when the wealthy Bishop Saint Nicholas of Smyrna (the precursor to Santa Claus) crept down their chimney and generously filled their stockings with gold coins. 8. It is estimated that the single “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin is the best selling single of all time, with over 100 million sales worldwide. 9. he earliest known Christmas tree decorations were apples. At Christmastime, medieval actors would use apples to decorate paradise trees (usually fir trees) during “Paradise Plays,” which were plays depicting Adam and Eve’s creation and fall. 10. Contrary to popular belief, suicide rates during the Christmas holiday are low. The highest rates are during the spring. Many people it appears, are hard on themselves, beating themselves up and not giving themselves a break for mistakes, or credit for hard decisions they have made. Past decisions or present ones, past actions or present actions , either way, sometimes we tend to be our own worst critic. I include myself in this. If we make a decision and we feel peace in our heart about it, then why second guess our thought or action? I personally do this at times. I feel that people, as well as myself, think about the should of's could of's or what if's. We all have to do what we feel like is right in our lives and we have to take care of ourselves. Self care is very important and when we second guess or beat ourselves up for our actions or decisions, that is not self care and can led to health problems from the stress of it all. Take care of yourself everyone, and if you feel in your heart that your actions or decisions are the right ones, then you did the right thing so feel peace in it and be easy on yourself. --- Kelly
Is it good to argue in relationships? I feel that it is, but there are fair ways to argue. There is not any relationship on earth where people do not argue. It will happen, and their is no way around it. The best thing to do is learn how to argue fairly. There is a correct way.
1. Of course, no violence. 2. Take turns talking and listening. 3. Stick to the subject at hand, don't bring up past arguments or things your partner did five years ago for example. 4. Do not belittle your partner. 5. Try to talk in calm voice. 6. Do not blame, own up to your own mistakes and admit it if you are wrong. 7. Do not talk about or name call your partner's family members. Most relationships fail due to the lack of communication. Learn to communicate. Learn to argue fairly, there is a successful way. Remember, the goal isn't to win an argument with your partner, it is to compromise with them.- Kelly |
