Religion and spirituality are two very different things. Many people understand that, but some do not. Everyone has his or her own definition to both, but to me spirituality is a relationship you have with a higher power of your understanding. Religion is what you subscribe to such as Catholic, or Church of Christ, etc. Can one have spirituality without religion? Here again, all people are different. Some people will say yes, because they can pray to a higher power without any ties to religion. Other’s perhaps will say no, because if you don’t have a religion, perhaps there is no higher power that will listen. Can one have religion without spirituality? I am quite sure there are many people sitting in church every Sunday claiming a religion, that have no clue what spirituality is.
What makes more since to you? Spirituality without religion, or religion without spirituality, do they co -exist? Can they be independent? Alternatively, can one not exist without the other? Does any of this matter? Many people put too much thought into life after death and what happens, and if God exists or not. If there is nothing, well, nothing matters and we won’t know anything anyway. If there is something, that will be great. If we believe then rewards are in order, and if there is nothing, well, there is nothing to lose. Living as though there is a higher power is just a good way to live anyway, so why not believe, either way there is nothing to lose. ----Keith

In August of 1920, women were given the right to vote. Yesterday Hillary Clinton seized a historic primary win. If you think about it, 1920 wasn’t that long ago. Times have changed significantly in the United States. No matter what side you are on in this presidential stuff, you have to admit that is an amazing thing that just ninety-six years ago women couldn’t vote, and now we may possibly have a women president. That says good things of the society we live in. I haven’t really paid much attention lately, but it seems that Trump hasn’t said anything to piss anyone off in a couple of days, My guess is there are many people out there who just wait to see what he will say next. Some people might say it is a conspiracy. Perhaps he is saying bizarre things to steer votes to Hillary so that she will win. Some would say it is a set up. What do you think? I suppose anything is possible. Maybe he is making people hate him so that they will vote Hillary, who knows. Most people would agree, (I think) maybe not, that it is a good thing in society that we have come to a point where a woman may win this thing. Some people would also say, that Trump being the president isn’t what is scary, what is scary is that we live in a society that would vote him in as our president. What do you think? Have a good day.---Keith
