Many people it appears, are hard on themselves, beating themselves up and not giving themselves a break for mistakes, or credit for hard decisions they have made. Past decisions or present ones, past actions or present actions, either way, sometimes we tend to be our own worst critic. I include myself in this. If we make a decision and we feel peace in our heart about it, then why second guess our thought or action? I personally do this at times. I feel that people, as well as myself, think about the should of's could of's or what if's. We all have to do what we feel like is right in our lives and we have to take care of ourselves. Self-care is very important and when we second guess or beat ourselves up for our actions or decisions, that is not self-care and can lead to health problems from the stress of it all. Take care of yourself everyone, and if you feel in your heart that your actions or decisions are the right ones, then you did the right thing so feel peace in it and be easy on yourself. --- Keith

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world. If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are more blessed than almost 3 billion people in the world. If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read anything at all. All writers learn quickly that writing the novel, story, or poem is the easy and fun part. It's a shame that the publishing process, marketing and of course fixing edits steer many good writers away from the craft. That's where the work really begins. Attaining a publisher to pick up your novel is a tremendous effort and is difficult and in most cases a long shot. I know that many of you know this, but maybe some beginners don't, I didn't. I thought I would write my books send them out a few times and there, boom, I was published. When and if you do get a publisher to publish your work, you will find that many small publishers can't afford to market your work well, so the writer has to market their own work. Most writers will not be lucky enough to land a deal with Random House or Double day, who can afford all of the above mentioned. Another avenue is self publishing, which is very hard work. The writer takes on the work of it all. Keep writing and remember it isn't about selling your work anyway, it is about having something to say and self expression.--Keith
Nowadays people are confused, (I am ) about being politically correct. There is this underlying fear of having to watch what we say as not to offend other people other groups, etc. What’s confusing to me as well as others I have talked with is that people/groups change so much on a daily basis of how they want to be referred to, that it is impossible to keep up. A person then says something with no intention of offending another someone/group and that other person/group gets offended. Statements appropriate when I was growing up are considered inappropriate now, how are we supposed to keep up with the changes when tomorrow it will be something else we supposed to say. In my opinion, people are offended way too easily nowadays and I am exhausted trying to be politically correct. Have a good Sunday.----Keith
