What is your idea of a perfect relationship, trust, good communication? Depending on who you ask, you will surely get different answers. I personally feel there isn't such thing as a perfect relationship. That is why the question asks to state "Your idea" of one. I write about relationships in pretty much all of my novels and poetry. In my work as a drug and alcohol counselor I also conduct relationship related groups. Now granted that the client's I work with have no clue what a perfect relationship is. Their idea of one is what they are used to in their life such as violence and drugs. I try to teach them appropriate ways to think of this subject then I have them practice it hopefully to make it reality. Of course some people you will never change. Another reason answers may vary to this question, is culture and age. Older people usually have a different view, sometimes more mature, but often unrealistic. Some old timers (70 or older) still believe that the woman should stay at home while the man works. Now days, one income is very hard, it takes two incomes to get through life. Youngsters under twenty five, say it is having a beautiful woman, while individuals in their thirties might say a smart intelligent partner. Relationships are tough regardless of your age , culture, or past experience. The people I work with use drugs and alcohol and that adds a whole new spin to the subject. I have had client's tell me that only hitting your partner a couple of times a month is normal . This is what they have been used to. I have had woman tell me that getting hit is a normal for them. Background and experience is a defining factor in one's answer. To me trust and good communication are my idea of a perfect relationship. However, I don't believe there is a perfect one., to me a perfect relationship I suppose is whatever the two people agree on and are happy with. As always please take the time to browse my site, check out my novel's . Have a good day.---Keith

August 11, 2037, the night before Chad Owens officially retires as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. It is an emotional evening as he thinks back through his career and life full of accomplishments and disappointments. His thoughts are bittersweet. On one hand, he is happy to close this chapter in his journey, and on the other, unsettled at the realization he’s facing the downhill side of life. Chad is a sixty-seven year old vibrant man retiring from a forty plus year career. On this night strolling down memory lane, he thinks of particular client’s he has worked with over the years and their complexities and challenges. Murderers, child molesters, rapist, millionaires, and the famous have all been a part of his clientele. Memories of people he has worked with over the years and their various quirks realizing staff including himself are not much different than the client’s they serve. He reminisces over his writing career and the disappointment in himself for never reaching the status he had hoped. The angst of shuffling his counseling career with his passion for writing hoping each year that passes will be the year he can make a living as a writer. Once he has partially attained this goal late in life, he then he struggles with the regret it didn’t happen sooner. Thankfully, he has a sanctuary, an escape in his music as he plays guitar in a small club with his friend and ex-publisher. He embraces his loving family and on this emotional night has a renewed realization of how lucky he has been to have them. Although he feels blessed and thankful for his life and family, certain things he would do over if he could. Realizing that at sixty-seven he is not getting any younger is disheartening to him, but he is looking forward to new adventures in the last leg of his existence. Travel with him on this fascinating journey of one man’s life in a world of change, struggle, happiness, and doubt. My novel Shop Side was released about a month ago, and I received a 5 star review the other day, which is awesome. I glanced over seeing the outline of a body lying across the bed. It was too dark to see well, but as my eyes acclimated, I realized it wasn’t Roscoe. This body was lying on its stomach and I could see the back straps of a sequined bra gleaming before me. As tired as I felt, I was still ready for a good old southern confrontation. I had been holding resentments towards him for months and I could feel it all coming to the surface. Roscoe and I both agreed that if we decided to have sex with someone else, we would at least have the decency and respect to let the other know. Fuck him! I flung open the bathroom door and flipped on the lights expecting Roscoe to be hiding like a trapped animal, but he wasn’t there. No one was there. I turned around to find the body no longer on the bed, but on the 4 Keith Kelly floor. All I could see was an ass sticking up in the air as the rest of the body was groping around under the bed. “Get your dirty ass out of my bedroom.” My voice sounded unfamiliar as it echoed off the walls. “Kaley, it’s me.” There is a great deal of talk about natural health remedies, herbs, and such. I actually beleive in several of them. I have been taken fish oil for years and my cholesterol and triglycerides are perfect. There are many common sense things we can do for our health, and then there are many natural medicines we can utilize as well. If I had cancer I don't think I would depend on something natural , but for everyday issues, why not try some of them. Ancupuncture is another practice that has worked well for me. Believe me I don't go around this earth trying to save every tree and protect every thing around us. I do however, recycle and try to save water. Here in New Mexico water is a serious business. Being there isn't much of it . I live in the high desert where water can be hard to come by so I sure don't waste it. This summer we have had quite a bit of rain for this part of the country and it has been wonderful. The environment where we live is worth protecting. I am not saying to go out and be a environmental guru, just try little things and if we all do this, then it will add up and save a lot. It is easy to recycle water. I talk about water because here in New Mexico where I live it is the most important issue for the environment. In Santa Fe there are no more pools being built, it is against the law. That sucks for the pool companies, although there isn't many of them to begin with, but point is, that is how bad our water supply is. Here is a funny article that an artist put together to show his part in how he can save water. It is a shower curtain that evicts you when it is time to get out. http://goo.gl/9LBbrP Of course this idea is not actually on the market for sale. It is just his own creation. I happen to think it is an awesome idea. View the video and tell me what you think. As usual feel free to browse my website. primarily the book section. Have good day ---Keith
