As a boy I remember my dad and grandparent's talking about how things were much simpler when they were growing up. They talked about how the times were changing, especially prices of things such as movies and food. Here I am forty -five and it is weird to think that I am old enough now to think back to a time when things seemed simpler. Unreal, but that's the reality. I was raised in the eighties and it was even simpler then. There wasn't internet, not in households anyway. No cell phones, but bag phones that very few people owned. Prices were cheaper, especially food. Some of you reading this may think the things I mentioned such as phones and internet have made things simpler, I disagree, if technology stops working even for five minutes, people panic. Leave your phone at home for one day or stay off internet for one day and see if it's that easy. Life was easier when we didn't know what these things were, these things were not in our lives to miss, because we didn't have them. Technology makes us stupid. Many people can't even count back change any more because cash machines tell them how much change to give back to customers. So strange that now I am one of those people talking about how much simpler things used to be. Unbelievable.---Kelly

I know the feeling of withdrawal from technology, but I am ashamed when I think about it, the key is to always be ready for it an not be dependent on it always have your mind with something to do, like learn something, build something read something, don't just go somewhere an fall asleep as soon as the power goes of an as soon as it comes on u are awake again. There is always something to do, unless its late at night in the cold.
