We live in a world of technology and social media. We can watch a war taking place on CNN live. We are bombarded with information on cell phones , internet, television. If we want news it is at our fingertips every minute of our lives. With that being said, are newspapers even important anymore. What do yo think? On one side of the coin, newspapers, may be able to fill us in on some details that may be missed online, and they are cheaper than cell phone and internet bills.
On the other side of the coin, the less newspapers, the less trees are cut down. Many feel newspapers are outdated and a waste of time to print. In a world of chaos, and busy lives, you may ask, who has time to stop and buy a paper? Much less read it from front to back. Many older people still read the newspaper, but look around and you will see very few young people with a newspaper, it is a world of social media. Perhaps it is a shame to see the newspaper fading away, it could be viewed as an institution slipping away into a world of yesterday. Feel free to comment.---Keith

Newspapers are still the preferred form of obtaining information for a fairly small group of people, a group that gets smaller every day - yet it is still large enough to make newspapers a mildly profitable business. The ink printed word, early edition delivery, community specific, format is not likely to maintain much profitability as we continue to progress with a global mindset.
