♦ Isn't it empowering knowing that the older you get the less you care what people think? Now that I am 46, my perception has changed a great deal from when I was twenty years old. Has yours? I was looking at shoes the other day and some of them are priced at over 100 dollars. There is no way I will pay that, but when I was twenty I had to have brand name clothes and the shoes. When younger I would never of dreamed of buying clothes at Wal-Mart. Now at 46, I buy many clothes at Wal -Mart. I always say I will never wear stretch pants like the 70 or 80 year old men do. When I reach that age I probably will because my perspective will change even more. I hope I don't wear those type of pants, but I probably will. How has your perspectives changed with age? I envision that it if I was flying around in outer space looking down at the earth; it is as one large symphony, with each person on earth being a musician in that symphony. The instrument they play is their life. Everyone is on a quest for meaning or peace in the course of living his or her lives. People define peace in different ways depending on who they are. A person with a harmonious symphony of life, meaning those that are relatively adjusted and stable, peace may come easier than those that are not. But then again, this is not always the case.
I often think about what peace is. Is it being successful or having money, or having a close relationship with God, or whatever one’s higher power may be? Maybe it’s having close friends and family or to know oneself? Is it helping others and expecting nothing in return? In my experience, everyone in the symphony of world, so to speak in my metaphor, has a different answer based upon the life they live. Existence has up’s and downs and will throw a curve at the worst fucking times. Do you agree? I want to address a question I received from a couple of subscribers. They asked about my pen name and why I write under a pen name, so I thought I'd respond in this blog. To begin with my name is Kelly Keith Darrow, I just switched the names around. I changed to a pen name for a couple of reasons. One, in correspondence from publisher's , agents and whatnot, they refereed to me as a Mrs. and of course I am a male. Secondly, and primarily in my novel Shop Side, but in other works as well, I have written from a perspective of a woman. I wanted my reader's to know I am a male who can write accurately from a female perspective. I think this is what makes Shop Side interesting. Anyway, you can find my older work under Kelly Darrow, but my newer work is under Keith Kelly. I have also changed the name of this website with my real name in parentheses, so that work under Kelly Darrow will show up on Google. Anyway I hope this clears things up for my subscribers. Have a good weekend. Keith Feel free to subscribe. Keith This is an interesting article about parenting http://goo.gl/RjRSDe I agree with all of these, primarily turning off the television, getting off of the phone, and cutting out sweets and calling it a meal. Children learn from all of these things, and it is patterns that will stick with them for life. I write about relationships and children in my work.
As youngster's we learn patterns from our parents and we tend to pass them down, and so on and so on. Someone has to break negative patterns, why not you? Do you agree with this article? Feel free to subscribe and have a good day. Keith This poem is about the innocence and care free feeling of being young. When we are young we have not been tainted by the harshness of life, it has not shaped us yet. By young I mean when we are children. This poem is about a man with struggles, and with a worry keeping him up at night, and so he is tired and sleeps in the day. The innocent little one doesn't understand and tells him everything will be okay. In life usually everything is okay. If we try to do the right thing, usually good things happen to us. Do you agree? What do you think of this particular writing? Comments are always welcome, and feel free to subscribe. --Keith“
"Awake in the dark-asleep in the light." By Keith Kelly Awake in the dark-asleep in the light. Headed towards gone as the face of life looks shockingly back at me. “Everything u’ll be ok Pappa,” he says. He doesn’t know what that means, he just repeats what he hears. We are all riders in an existence. What existence? Well, that’s your own creation. I’m just glad I didn’t live my whole life through before knowing you. That would be a shame. Life, that’s interesting. Can anyone really explain to me what it is? Death is also interesting. Can anyone really explain what that is? Innocence in young life is such a wonderful gift. A possession of no problems nor experiences gained from the pain of living. So much peace - lacking the knowledge of suffering, just being, one second at a time. We reach an age when we think we know life. In all reality we don’t and never will. If we did, then perhaps we wouldn’t take happy times for granted, and engage in irresponsible behaviors when life gets hard. We cry, we laugh, and at times sad. This amongst a troubled world of inconsistent actions by humans of existence swirling around trying to get whole. I know this subject is about a week late, but Did anybody watch Dick Clark's New Years Eve countdown with Ryan Seacrest? In my opinion this had to be the worst New Year's Eve show ever. Believe me I watched very little. Who were those people? I will not even refer to them as musicians I have never heard of most of them, and I work with the younger generation everyday. It is a shame what our music scene has come to, these people are pathetic. Although Fergi is a beautiful woman, she is a horrible host. I found this production to be horrific. At least last year they did a countdown of the top performances since the beginning back in the 1970's, that was enjoyable. They didn't do anything like that this year. If you were unfortunate enough to watch this, what is your thoughts? The video below, now that is music Be sure to subscribe to my blog...Keith |
