There are people in this world who thrive on chaos. They have this way of creating it that helps them to thrive. Perhaps it can be used as an art, or maybe it simply is an art, I don't know. Chaos can be used to create, to help others, or people can use it to throw a pity party and feel sorry for themselves. I worked in prisons for many years and a term we always used was, controlled chaos. In that setting it is surely an art that is a must. If it wasn't for the controlled chaos, it could have led to disaster. Perhaps people feel that way about their lives. I for one hate drama, I don't like chaos. The Art of Chaos however, in my experience, serves some well.---Kelly

Somebody needs to say it so I will. It seems that now days people are so scared"not," to be politically correct. There is this underlying fear of having to watch what we say as not to offend other people other groups, etc. The fact is that people/groups change so much on a daily basis of how they want to be referred to , that it is impossible to keep up. A person then says something with no intention of offending another someone/group and that other person/group gets offended. Statements appropriate when I was growing up are considered inappropriate now, how are we supposed to keep up with the changes when tomorrow it will be something else we supposed to say. People ore offended way to easily now days and people who meant to disrespect are the ones that suffer some sort of consequence. I personally am offended of the fact that I have to be so careful in what I say. I am not scared to be "not," politically correct. This post will offend someone and all I am doing is stating my opinion. I am damn not afraid to say it, somebody had to.---Kelly
All writers learn quickly that writing the novel, story, or poem is the easy and fun part. It's a shame that the publishing process, marketing and of course fixing edits steer many good writers away from the craft. That's where the work really begins. Attaining a publisher to pick up your novel is a tremendous effort and is difficult and in most cases a long shot. I know that many of you know this, but maybe some beginners don't, I didn't. I thought I would write my books send them out a few times and there, boom, I was published. When and if you do get a publisher to publish your work, you will find that many small publishers can't afford to market your work well, so the writer has to market their own work. Most writers will not be lucky enough to land a deal with Random House or Double day, who can afford all of the above mentioned. Another avenue is self publishing, which is very hard work. The writer takes on the work of it all. Keep writing and remember it isn't about selling your work anyway, it is about having something to say and self expression.--Kelly
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world. If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are more blessed than almost 3 billion people in the world. If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read anything at all. |
