The other afternoon I met a man on the train. He was carrying a guitar and was looking for a place to sit down. He was old with a limp. A gentlemen sitting across from me offered this guy his seat. So there he was sitting in front of me. He told me he was headed to Kentucky to play a show and that his name was Sonny. He said he had no idea where Kentucky was, but that his band was already there waiting on him. At this point, I thought, Oh cool. As he kept talking however, I realized he may be in the dementia stage, who knows, but anyway, he said he graduated from Julliard School of Music, that he was a retired State police, and that he had a degree from the University of New Mexico in engineering. I listened to him thinking well, if nothing else this will make a good story to write. As I was de-boarding, he opened up his guitar case and showed me a picture of himself with his band, and standing beside his band was a picture of a famous guitar player. He then showed me a much younger picture of himself in a State Police uniform. You never know. “Notice every moment.” Keith

Why do people really care if Brittney Spears was seen exposing her golden tanned abs? Who cares who wins these ridiculous reality shows? Perhaps it is because people want to check out of life for a while. Here is a suggestion, select a piece of meditation music, close your eyes, and listen to the music letting your mind go where it will. This is a great and healthy way to check out. Are people bored or what? Why do they follow the lives of these rich and famous? One of my heroes, a musician, and activist, by the name of Pete Seeger, (look him up); was a great musician and writer who didn’t want the money or the recognition from it. He played music for the art of it, because he wanted to give people something to enjoy. RIP Pete. “Notice every moment.” Keith
I want to follow up on a blog post from last week entitled, “Writing and Waiting.” That very day I received editor’s notes from my publishing company. No more waiting, now I am re-writing and editing. Writings the easy part as all of you writers know. The editing re- writes are what’s hard. It has to be done that’s all there is to it. A curse to this whole writing business, musician, and creativity in general, is that very seldom, and I don’t think I am alone, but very seldom, do we create something we are totally happy with. . This is such a curse, but what do we do, Well, we keep writing. “Notice every moment.” Keith
